Snap2Deduct does not require you to create an account or sign in to use the app.

Information Handled by the App

Snap2Deduct may handle the following information when you use the app:

Personal Mode

• Donation photos that you select or capture
• Donation organization names that you select or enter
• Donation dates
• Item descriptions, categories, conditions, quantities, and estimated values generated or edited in the app
• Saved donation session records
• Donation Summary PDF exports

Organization Receipt Mode

• Donation photos that you select or capture
• Organization name entered or selected by the organization user
• Donated item descriptions, categories, conditions, and quantities reviewed and confirmed by the organization user
• Donor name entered by the organization user
• Donor email address, if entered, used only within the receipt workflow and exported PDF
• Optional receipt notes entered by the organization user
• Saved organization receipt records
• Donor Receipt PDF exports

How Donation Photos Are Used

When you scan a donation, the selected image is processed by Snap2Deduct to help identify items and generate estimated donation records. Donation images are sent to Snap2Deduct's analysis service and then to OpenAI for image analysis.

Local Storage

Snap2Deduct stores data locally on your device or browser storage. No donation or receipt history is synced to external servers beyond what is required for image analysis.

• Personal Mode: saved donation session records, including donation photos, organization name, donation date, item descriptions, categories, conditions, quantities, and estimated values.
• Organization Receipt Mode: saved organization receipt records, including donation photos, organization name, donated item descriptions, categories, conditions, quantities, donor name, optional donor email, optional receipt notes, and receipt date. Donor receipt records are stored locally on the device or browser storage and are not transmitted to Snap2Deduct servers unless the user chooses to export or share the PDF.

PDF Exports

Snap2Deduct supports two types of PDF exports:

• Donation Summary PDFs (Personal Mode): may include donation photos and donation session details.
• Organization Donor Receipt PDFs (Organization Receipt Mode): may include donation photos, organization name, donated item descriptions, donor name, optional donor email, optional receipt notes, and receipt date. Organization Donor Receipt PDFs document items received and do not assign or confirm tax value.

On supported native iOS builds, exported PDFs may be written to the app's Documents directory and shared through the system share sheet. The app does not directly email receipts to donors; users may share the generated PDF through the device share sheet.

Third-Party Processing

Snap2Deduct uses third-party services to support app functionality, including hosting and image analysis. These services may process information only as needed to provide app features.

What Snap2Deduct Does Not Do

• Snap2Deduct does not require account creation to use the app.
• Snap2Deduct does not describe your donation history as syncing across signed-in devices.
• Snap2Deduct does not sell personal information or donor information.
• Snap2Deduct does not directly email receipts to donors in the current version.
• Snap2Deduct does not assign or confirm tax value for Organization Donor Receipt PDFs.
• Snap2Deduct does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or appraisal advice.

Your Choices

You can choose whether to save donation sessions or organization receipt records in the app. You can choose whether to enter donor email addresses in Organization Receipt Mode. You can also choose whether to export or share Donation Summary PDFs and Organization Donor Receipt PDFs.

You may delete saved personal donation sessions from the app. Organization receipt records are stored locally on your device or browser storage.
